The ERA Coordination Study has come to a successful end! |
The ERA Study "ERA Coordination Initiaitve in the field on the Networked Enteprrise" was successfully completed on July 2008. The Study proved to be a concrete ERA Coordination action in the ICT field of Networked Enteprise. Its main achievements and actual impact are considered highly significant and are summarized below. More specifically, the Study:
(i) Contributed to the development of a common knowledge base necessary for the coordination and coherent development of the Networked Enterprise European, national and regional ICT research policies and programmes;
(ii) Created substantial awareness of the Networked Enteprrise field and its 4 key research areas among key national / regional policy makers, and mainly among national / regional research programme managers of EU27 and Turkey;
(iii) Facilitated the direct networking and exchange of information among the EC (DG-INFSO, D4: Networked Enterprise and RFID Unit) and the national / regional policy makers and programme managers in the field;
(iv) Promoted the inclusion of the Networked Enterprise field within the research priorities of an existing ERANET (i.e. eTRANET). As an outcome, relevant research areas were included in the eTRANET 3rd joint call for trans-national research projects, thus setting a concrete coordination paradigm in action;
(v) Paved the way towards an ERANET in the area of ‘Future Enterprise’, a cross-thematic, cross-disciplinary and cross-sectoral research area of a horizontal nature, that is based on the Networked Enterprise field and its key research areas.
In addition, within the framework of the Study the following main Compendiums, Reports and Coordination Activities were elaborated:
· The Final Comparative Analysis concluding on research areas of common interests among Member States, that are prominent for coordination actions. In addition, it concluded on best practices and on a Recommendation Action Plan for future coordination actions in the field.
