Knowledge Hubs
The Compendium of effective knowledge hubs provides an analysis of the existing inter-organisational networks and the organisations that act as Knowledge Hubs in the Networked Enterprise field as a whole and its four key research areas.
|
A Hub may be defined as an organisation with a large number of connections and/or an organisation that is highly influential by playing the role of connector to parts of the network that would otherwise remain unconnected. Hubs operate as knowledge depositories and sources of information and ideas. Hubs with the aforementioned properties are also defined as Network and Knowledge Hubs (Malerbo et all, 2006). |
This Compendium was conducted during the second semester of 2007 and was based on the principles of Social Network Analysis. More specifically, it aims to:
1. Assess the capability and actual performance of the organisations that participate in the 53 Networked Enterprise projects to act as effective Knowledge Hubs and,
2. Examine the structural properties of the inter-organisational network(s) formed by the participation of these organisations in the 53 Networked Enterprise projects.
