ERA in Networked Enterprise

Main objective

The main objective of the `ERA Coordination Initiative in the field of Networked Enterprise` is to facilitate the networking among policy makers and key stakeholders and improve the European, national and regional co-ordination of the related policies and research initiatives addressing the respective field.

Specific objectives

• Analyze and compare policies and initiatives related to the four key research areas at all levels (EU, National, Regional);

• Identify the key European, national and regional policy makers, public representatives, experts, decision makers and knowledge hubs;

• Setup sustainable networking interfaces among EC, national and regional policy makers and key stakeholders;

• Organise coordination activities at policy level;

• Identify good practices;

• Define recommended actions towards the improvement of coordination in the field of Networked Enterprise.

Outcomes / Results

The outcomes of this Initiative will constitute a set of both tangible (compendiums, reports, etc.) and intangible assets (sustainable networking interfaces and community building of policy makers and key stakeholders at European, national and regional level). An indicative list is provided below:

1. Compendium of the European, national and regional policies and initiatives in the field of Networked Enterprise (including also 1 European and 28 National Reports, EU-27 plus Turkey);
   

2. Compendium of the ERA co-ordination actions in the Networked Enterprise & RFID unit;
   

3. Comparative analysis (updated twice till June 2008);
   

4. Compendium of effective knowledge hubs in the research areas of Networked Enterprise at European, national and regional level;
   

5. Organization of a web-consultation and 4 European workshops among policy makers and key stakeholders;
   

6. Formulation of a commonly agreed action plan to improve ERA coordination in the respective field;
   

7. Creation of a sustainable community of EC, national and regional policy makers and key stakeholders in the Networked Enterprise field.
