ERA Co-ordination Actions
Among the ERA Study's objectives, is to perform an analysis of the policy-related activities of the DG INFSO, D4: Networked Enterprise and RFID Unit and of the ERA related activities of the Unit's ongoing FP6 Projects and of its respective four Clusters of Projects.
The respective analysis is provided in a comprehensive Compendium that is described below.
Compendium of ERA co-ordination actions in the Networked Enterprise & RFID Unit
The 'Compendium of ERA co-ordination actions in the Networked Enterprise & RFID Unit' presents and analyses:
-
the ERA related activities of the 53 FP6 projects funded by the Networked Enterprise & RFID Unit (DG INFSO, Unit D4);
-
the ERA related activities and priority actions of the respective four Clusters of projects; and
-
the policy-related activities of the Unit in the field of Networked Enterprise.
More specifically, the Compendium provides an overall insight on:
-
the strengths and weaknesses of the ERA related activities in the Networked Enterprise field;
-
the missing activities that should be addressed by the Unit in the future;
-
the key success factors for ERA Coordination; and
-
the areas where benefits from ERA Coordination can be gained in the field of Networked Enterprise.
Finally, the Compendium also provides an inventory of the ERA related activities, additional good practices for ERA Coordination and the ERA coordination Projects' Profiles, which summarises the coordination activities of the 53 FP6 Networked Enterprise Projects, which are funded by the Unit.
It should be clarified that the Compendium (conducted during the 1st Semester of 2007) does not comprise an impact assessment exercise of the ERA coordination actions in the field of Networked Enterprise. Instead, the Compendium aims to identify and present all ERA related activities implemented within the context of the Networked Enterprise and RFID Unit and consequently to provide an initial insight on the potential strengths, weaknesses, missing activities, key success factors and areas were benefits from ERA Coordination can be gained. This task will be further detailed and extended as part of the Comparative Analysis Report, which is a separate deliverable produced within the context of the present ERA study and targets to provide specific recommendations to improve ERA coordination in the field of Networked Enterprise and its key areas.
